The Newest Book by DD McDee - Dragons Inc.

Front Cover Final smaller.png

It all begins with the innocent question,

“What if dragons were real?"

Author DD McDee then opens the door to a unique world of “what if.”  Start with a young, twenty-something named Deanne and her best friend, Larry (who happens to be a dragon). Have them play through space in a car, help a small village in Nepal, meet other dragons (of course), save some whales, put out a forest fire, and save a town.

Add icebergs, a movie set, a poodle (because why not?), magicians, a whole lot of magic, the worst year in history, the moon….and you have the makings of a laugh-out loud romp.

If this book doesn’t bring you more than a few smiles, some chuckles, and several outright guffaws, then our reader polls are just plain wrong. All the readers who have ventured into Dragons, Inc, say that’s what they do when they read about what happens in a world where dragons have rights too, and humans get some truly awesome new friends.

My Grandmother's Dragon

     RECIPE FOR ADVENTURE

Take one small Texas town, add one grandmother, three neighborhood children, one teenage granddaughter, a freshly baked batch of cookies and one large dragon.

Stir lightly and let the adventure begin.

"An engaging story about a dragon, a grandma, new friends, and cookies. A great way to improve student vocabulary and reading skills in the classroom."

S.C., Teacher and Tech Guru

D.D. McDee has captured the heart of the windy Texas plains that birthed the wit and wisdom of this wonderful new book for young readers (and young-at-heart readers as well).

"I loved this story. I think I simply devoured it. It's for all ages really. More! More! More!"

N.E., Retired Teacher

Learn interesting new words. Explore rural Texas attitudes -- and may you never look at a large sculpture the same again.

Illustrations by Aulysch

I definitely want to acknowledge my Illustrator Aulysch. Working with someone from Indonesia brought about it's very own set of unique requirements. Try explaining the dusty dry plains of Texas to someone who lives in a completely different and certainly more lush tropical environment. Our interactions were wonderful and the quality of the illustrations delighted me completely

Aulysh's paintings definitely have a very special magical quality, which I love. Explore more of Aulysch's work here.
